• Donate sesame seeds and black cloth - On this day, take a bath with Ganga water and donate black sesame seeds and black cloth to a needy or poor person. This remedy provides relief from the inauspicious effects of Saturn and Rahu-Ketu.
• Light a lamp under a Peepal tree - Light a mustard oil lamp under a Peepal tree at night. The Peepal tree is considered the abode of ancestors, and this remedy provides relief from ancestral curses.
• Worship Lord Shiva - On this date, worship Lord Shiva at night and chant the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. This mantra provides relief from all suffering and diseases.
• Worshiping Lord Hanuman - Worshiping Lord Hanuman protects against the negative effects of Rahu and Ketu. Therefore, recite the 'Hanuman Chalisa' or 'Bajrang Baan' on this special day.
• Feed the poor - Feed the poor at night on this date. According to religious beliefs, giving charity and other charitable acts eliminates the negative effects of planets from your horoscope.
• Offerings to ancestors - If you haven't performed Shraddha during the day, you can still offer them after sunset. Mix black sesame seeds in water and offer it to your ancestors. Doing so pleases your ancestors.
