News Topical, Digital Desk : Saudi Arabia has provided two billion US dollars to Pakistan, Pakistan's central bank confirmed on Thursday.

Recently, Pakistan's Finance Minister announced that $3 billion in aid was forthcoming from Saudi Arabia. This is part of that. The State Bank of Pakistan stated, "The funds were received on April 15."

Saudi Arabia on Tuesday extended its USD 5 billion facility for three years and pledged an additional USD 3 billion in aid to Pakistan.

According to Pakistan's Finance Minister Aurangzeb, who is in the US, the existing Saudi deposits of US$5 billion will no longer be subject to the previous annual rollover arrangement and will be extended for a longer period.

With this new loan, Saudi Arabia has now deposited a total of US$8 billion with Pakistan's central bank. Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Saudi Arabia's support comes at a critical time and will provide significant assistance to Pakistan.
