Santhakumari Dies: Mohanlal's mother passes away at the age of 90, was ill for a long time

She had been receiving treatment for age-related health problems for some time. The funeral rites are expected to be held in Kochi in the presence of close relatives.

Treatment was going on for a long time

Santhakumari lived with Mohanlal at his home and cared for him during his illness. Despite the actor's busy schedule, he prioritized making time for his mother. Mohanlal's father, Viswanathan Nair, passed away in 2005, and his elder brother, Pyarilal, died in 2000. Santhakumari's health gradually deteriorated due to age-related complications.

Mohanlal was very close to his mother

Mohanlal has acknowledged Santhakumari's influence on his career for years. She played a crucial role in his personal and professional development, a role he has mentioned on numerous occasions. The actor has previously expressed gratitude for celebrating his achievements with his mother. Recently, Mohanlal said that it was a great privilege to share the Dadasaheb Phalke Award with his mother and also revealed that the first thing he did after learning about the honor was to visit her.

When and where will the funeral take place?

His body will later be taken to Thiruvananthapuram, and reportedly his funeral will take place on December 31. Mohanlal is the youngest of two children of Santhakumari and Viswanathan Nair. They lost their elder son, Pyarelal, in 2000.
