
Samajwadi Party Condolence Meeting: Expressing deep grief over the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Samajwadi Party organized a condolence meeting at the party headquarters in Lucknow on Wednesday. The condolence meeting was presided over by Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav. During this, tribute was paid by observing two minutes of silence for the peace of the souls of the dead.
Akhilesh Yadav said on this occasion that "The terrorist attack in Pahalgam is extremely painful and condemnable. The pictures that have come out are heart-wrenching. This attack has once again raised the question that how serious is the central government about the safety of common citizens in the country?"
He demanded from the central government that the best medical facilities in the country should be immediately made available to those injured in this attack. Akhilesh said, "We wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. This is the time to show sensitivity, not to do politics."
Akhilesh Yadav further said that the government should first ensure that a safe environment is maintained in the country, so that both common citizens and tourists feel safe. "It is necessary to strengthen the security system in sensitive areas like Jammu and Kashmir, so that such incidents do not recur,"

Many senior leaders and officials of Samajwadi Party were present in this condolence meeting, including National Vice President Kiranmay Nanda, MP Rajiv Rai, former minister Rajendra Chaudhary, MLA Mehboob Ali, former minister Pawan Pandey and former leader of opposition in Legislative Council Sanjay Lathar.
Serious questions raised on security system
It is worth noting that recently there was a terrorist attack on a bus full of tourists in Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir. Many people died in this attack and many were seriously injured. This incident has happened at a time when efforts are being made to show Jammu and Kashmir as normal in terms of tourism. But the continuous attacks have raised serious questions on the security system.
The government is responsible for peace and security
Samajwadi Party demanded an answer from the central government regarding this attack and said that if proper arrangements had been made in time, so many people would not have lost their lives. The party reiterated that the responsibility of peace and security is of the government and any kind of lapse in it should not be tolerated.
