News Topical, Digital Desk : A heated argument broke out between female sanitation workers and officials at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) in Rohtak, Haryana. The women have leveled serious allegations against their officials. The women alleged that they were seeking a break due to their health issues caused by their periods.

The matter was reported to the authorities, but a supervisor allegedly ignored them and ordered them to remove their clothes and undergo a menstrual check. This angered the female employees and they created a ruckus.

Meanwhile, officials claim that the female staff member manhandled them. The university registrar visited the scene and promised to investigate the incident and take action against the guilty officials. The women victims shared their ordeal with senior officials.

The woman made serious allegations

It is alleged that the supervisor, through the female security guard, made the female sanitation workers remove their clothes for examination and even took their photographs, violating their privacy. All this was done in the name of examination, and it was said that there was an order from the Assistant Registrar from above.

When the situation escalated, the female worker refused to do so, and they attempted to force themselves on her. Following this, other sanitation workers took the matter seriously, and a protest ensued. Student organizations also came out in support of the female sanitation workers and demanded the suspension of the accused. Dial 112 also arrived at the scene.

Student leader complained about the matter

Student leaders Dinesh Kangra, Vikram Dumolia, and Pradeep Mota arrived at the scene and complained to Professor Bhagat Singh, who was present to hear the matter. They explained that the sanitation supervisor had called other sanitation workers employed by the Skilled Employment Corporation to clean the sports complex.

The female employees claim that two of them were experiencing discomfort due to menstruation, and their supervisor was informed of this. Despite this, they were subjected to inappropriate action. Dr. Bhagat Singh arrived at the scene and resolved the situation. He assured them that those involved would not be spared. If the investigation reveals any wrongdoing, they would be immediately dismissed.

General Secretary of Non-Teaching Employees Union on the matter

Ajmer Singh, general secretary of the Non-Teaching Employees Union, stated that the non-teaching staff of MDU are not at fault in this matter. Some people are unnecessarily defaming the university. The entire matter will be investigated.

Registrar K.K. Gupta, who arrived at the scene, said, "Whatever wrongs have happened to women at the university, we will investigate the entire incident. The supervisor has been removed and anyone found guilty in this case will not be spared."

He said that, if necessary, a case will be filed against the accused officers under the SC/ST Act. If any female employees are subjected to such behavior in the future, no one will be spared.
