Recently, the police received more than 500 complaints about an app named HiBox. After this, the police started investigating the matter and found that this app had defrauded more than 30 thousand people of more than 500 crore rupees by luring them with high returns. After this, the police started investigating the matter and the celebrities who promoted this app were also suspected to have a connection with this scam. The police has started investigating it. Earlier, Delhi Police had issued summons against YouTuber Elvish Yadav and comedian Bharti Singh and three other social media influencers. Now Rhea Chakraborty's name has also come up in this list. 

Police had given this information

Regarding this matter, on October 3, Deputy Commissioner of Police (IFSO Special Cell) Hemant Tiwari had said that 'Hibox is a mobile app which was part of a well-planned fraud.' The DCP said that through this app, the accused promised guaranteed returns of one to five percent per day, which would range from 30 to 90 percent in a month. The app was launched in February 2024. More than 30,000 people invested money through the app. Investors got high returns during the initial five months. However, from July the app stopped payments citing technical glitches, legal issues, GST issues.
