Let us tell you that during the ongoing tension with Pakistan in the Pahalgam terrorist attack, BSF had stopped this ceremony from May 7. Now when the tension between India and Pakistan is decreasing, this Retreat Ceremony is being started again.

The gate will not open from the Indian side

BSF also took a new decision during this ceremony that the ceremony will resume, but neither the gate will be opened from the Indian side nor the commanders of both the countries will shake hands. At the same time, the retreat ceremony will resume from today at the three joint posts of Punjab Frontier, but today it will be only for media persons. It will not be organized for the general public today. 

When will the general public be able to see the ceremony?

Giving information, BSF said that from tomorrow i.e. 21st May, the retreat ceremony will resume for the general public. This retreat ceremony will be held at Attari-Wagah, Hussainiwala (Ferozepur) and Sadki Border (Fazilka). But now after the new decision, neither the gates will be opened at the border nor will hands be shaken with the Pakistan commander. Let us inform you that this ceremony will be held at 6 pm. Let us tell you that the Beating Retreat Ceremony has been a tradition between the two countries since 1959, which was stopped by India on 7 May after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
