According to police sources, this theft occurred at the National Museum on Saturday. Following the incident, CISF personnel deployed at the scene searched and apprehended the accused professor and handed him over to the Kartavya Path police station.

How was the accused caught?

The theft of a replica of the dancing girl from the National Museum was reported at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Saturday. CISF personnel discovered the replica missing from the museum's Anubhav Gallery. They immediately launched a search operation. During the search, a man was apprehended inside the premises and the replica was recovered from his possession.

After apprehending the accused of theft at the museum, CISF officers informed the duty staff present there. They then informed the police. According to sources, a team from the Kartavya Path police station arrived at the museum shortly after receiving information about the incident and took the accused into custody.

Here, a retired banker was duped of Rs 23 crore.

Meanwhile, the biggest fraud ever committed through digital arrest has come to light in the capital, Delhi. The fraudsters targeted Naresh Malhotra, a former banker from Delhi, and defrauded him of ₹23 crore. According to reports, the fraudsters kept the retired banker under complete digital arrest and remained in constant contact with him for a month, from August 4th to September 4th.
