News Topical, Digital Desk : Actor Pankaj Dheer, who played Karna in the Mahabharata, has passed away at the age of 68. Pankaj had been battling cancer for a long time. CINTAA confirmed his death.
The last rites were performed at Pawan Hans Ghat.
CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) issued an official statement saying, “With immense grief and deep sorrow, we inform you that Pankaj Dheer ji, former President of our Trust and former Hon'ble General Secretary of CINTAA, passed away on 15th October 2025. His last rites will be performed today at 4:30 pm, next to Pawan Hans, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai.”
Salman Khan arrives to meet his family
Many Bollywood celebrities are arriving to pay their last respects. Superstar Salman Khan also arrived amid heavy security to pay his last respects to actor Pankaj Dheer. Salman shares a close relationship with Pankaj's son, Nikitin Dheer.
Salman was seen hugging Nikitin
The actor was seen consoling and hugging an emotional Nikitin, giving him courage during this difficult time. Salman has worked with Pankaj in "Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge." He has also worked with Nikitin in several films, including "Ready," "Dabangg 2," and "Antim: The Final Truth." Sidharth Malhotra was also seen arriving to pay his last respects.
Other film stars included Deep Dhillon, who played Jayadratha, Surendra Pal, who played Dronacharya, and Feroz Khan, who played Arjuna in the Mahabharata. Shahbaz Khan, who played Prince Virendra Vikram Singh in Chandrakanta, was also present.
Nikitin's wife is a costume designer
Pankaj Dheer is survived by his wife Anita, actor son Nikitin Dheer, and daughter-in-law Kritika Sengar, who is also an actress. He also has a 3-year-old granddaughter, Devika. Besides Mahabharat, Pankaj Dheer has also appeared in several popular TV serials, including Chandrakanta, The Great Maratha, Kanoon, and Sasural Simar Ka. His popular films include Saugandh, Sadak, Baadshah, Soldier, and Tarzan: The Wonder Car. His wife Anita Dheer is a costume designer.
