News Topical, Digital Desk : Reliance Jio surpassed the crucial 500 million subscriber base in the September quarter, according to data released today. ARPU also grew by over 8% year-over-year during the quarter. According to the data, Reliance Jio's second-quarter revenue grew 12% year-over-year, from ₹28,338 crore to ₹31,857 crore. EBITDA increased from ₹15,036 crore to ₹17,874 crore, a 19% increase. Margins increased from 53.1% to 56.1%. In the first quarter, the company's revenue was ₹30,882 crore, EBITDA was ₹17,301 crore, and margins were 56%.

How was the quarter's performance?
APRU stood at ₹211.4 per subscriber per month during the quarter, compared to ₹208.8 in the first quarter and ₹195.1 in the same quarter last year. Markets and analysts monitor ARPU for company performance. An increase in ARPU, coupled with a growing customer base, is considered a significant positive. During the quarter, the company's customer base surpassed 500 million, reaching 506.4 million, a 5.8% increase compared to last year. Data traffic grew 29.8% year-over-year and voice traffic grew 5.6%. Jio AirFiber's subscriber base reached 9.5 million, an increase of 1 million during the quarter. 

What did the Chairman say? After the results, Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash Ambani said that Jio is proudly serving 500 million subscribers, fulfilling many of their daily digital needs. This is possible thanks to Jio's deep-tech initiatives, which are accelerating India's technological revolution and supporting Prime Minister Modi's Digital India mission. Jio will continue to pioneer new technologies.
