News Topical, Digital Desk : Due to the heat and delays in the registration process for the Amarnath Yatra 2026, applicants created a ruckus at the Yes Bank in Saunkh Adda. Later, bank employees pacified them.
On Wednesday, the first day of the process, 45 applicants registered, while others will be registered on Thursday and Friday. Registrations for the Amarnath Yatra began on Wednesday, and on the very first day, banks were thronged with applicants eager to register.
The yatra will begin on July 3 and continue till August 28. The government has authorized the registration through the official website of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) or through PNB, SBI, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Yes Bank.
Applicants from across the district flocked to designated bank branches in the city to register. A relatively large number of applicants created a ruckus at the Yes Bank branch in Dampier Nagar.
In fact, registrations were made using a single bank ID, which caused server downtime and delays. 45 applicants registered with the bank.
Due to the large number of registration forms, the bank has asked about a hundred applicants to return two days later with their forms.
Yes Bank branch manager Sukhveer Singh denied any disturbance. He explained that the government has set an online registration fee of ₹220 per person.
A health certificate (CHC) and Aadhaar card issued on or after April 8, 2026, are required for the trip. The age limit for the trip is 13 to 70 years.
For security reasons, every passenger must have an RFID card. Women who are more than six weeks pregnant are not permitted to travel.
