This date is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, and Lord Vishnu. This Ekadashi falls just before Diwali, so prayers performed on this day and certain remedies taken at night can change a person's fortunes and pave the way for wealth to enter the home.

Recitation of Shri Sukta
On the night of Rama Ekadashi, after bathing and taking a bath, wear clean clothes. Worship Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi together.
Light a four-sided lamp with pure ghee. After lighting the lamp, recite the "Shri Sukta" hymn dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. It is believed that reciting the Shri Sukta quickly pleases Goddess Lakshmi and she resides permanently in the home.
Light a lamp near Tulsi
Tulsi Puja is of great importance during the month of Kartik. On the night of Rama Ekadashi, light a ghee lamp under the Tulsi plant. Let it burn throughout the night. Then, with folded hands, pray to Tulsi Mata for wealth, happiness, and good fortune. Tulsi is known as Vishnu Priya (the beloved of Lord Vishnu). Therefore, worshipping her bestows the blessings of both Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
Worship of the Peepal tree
On this auspicious occasion, light a ghee lamp under the Peepal tree. While circumambulating the Peepal tree, chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya." Doing so alleviates financial difficulties and frees you from debt.
Donation of yellow colored things
Lord Vishnu is very fond of yellow things. Therefore, after worshipping on the night of Ekadashi, donate bananas, turmeric, gram flour laddus, and yellow clothes. Doing so increases happiness, prosperity, and knowledge in your life.
