News Topical, Digital Desk : Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait, who was in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, to attend a farmers' conference, responded to the Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda case in Prayagraj. He said, "This country is a land of sages and farmers. Any interference with either will cause unrest."
What happened to Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda was terribly wrong. The way the police stopped him, grabbed him by the waist, beat him, and dragged him was utterly wrong. This should not happen to saints. If a saint returns from a holy place without bathing, it will bring trouble to the country.
