News Topical, Digital Desk : A major accident occurred on Thursday morning (December 4th) on Samatipura Road in Jalore city, Rajasthan. A speeding Swift car crushed four female MNREGA workers and a 3-year-old child sitting on the roadside. Two women, residents of Taskhana Bavdi, died on the spot, while the seriously injured child was referred to Pali.

Two women are undergoing treatment at Jalore General Hospital. A major accident occurred on Samatipura Road in Jalore, Rajasthan, on Thursday morning. Women engaged in MNREGA work, run by the Municipal Council, were sitting on the roadside, preparing for work.

Workers crushed by speeding car

A speeding Swift car coming from Samatipura suddenly lost control. It crashed into a neem tree, crushing Badami, wife of Sujaram Bhil, Gugi Devi, wife of Bhanwarlal Bhil, Indra, daughter of Virmaram Bhil, Lila, daughter of Futarmall, and 3-year-old Dheeraj, son of Virmaram Bhil, who were sitting near the tree. 

Badami and Gugi Devi died on the spot after the car struck them, while Indra, Leela, and the child, Dheeraj, were seriously injured. The injured were immediately hospitalized. The seriously injured child was referred.

Local people rushed him to the hospital

Following the incident, with the help of local residents, the injured were immediately transported by ambulance to Jalore General Hospital. Doctors referred Dheeraj to Pali due to his critical condition. Leela Devi and Indra Devi are undergoing treatment at Jalore District Hospital.

Eyewitnesses to the accident said the women were returning from the MNREGA site after eating at the Ramdevji Maharaj Temple. A speeding car suddenly lost control and ran over them, and the driver fled the scene.

Jalore DSP reached the spot

Upon receiving the information, a police team, including Jalore DSP Gautam Jain and Kotwal Rameshwarlal, arrived at the scene, inspected the scene, registered a case, and began an investigation. District Collector Dr. Pradeep K. Gawande and Tehsildar Ranveer Singh subsequently visited the hospital and inquired about the injured's treatment. The incident has caused an atmosphere of grief and anger in the entire area, and the police are searching for the absconding driver.
