News Topical, Digital Desk : Heavy rains that started early in the morning on Saturday ( 7 September) in Sirohi district disrupted normal life . Sometimes heavy and sometimes drizzling rains worsened the situation so much that water entered the houses in villages and towns. Pindwara area was the most affected, where 105 mm of rain was recorded and the entire city was submerged.

In Pindwara , the water of rivers and streams reached residential areas and government buildings. The tehsil office was flooded and the roads near Swarupganj police station area turned into a river-like situation. In many places, people could not even come out of their houses.

Due to continuous rain, many dams of the district overflowed . Aburod 's Batisa dam also overflowed . According to the irrigation department, there is a sheet of water of 1.5 to 2 feet on the dams . Due to this, there is a danger in the surrounding villages. The department said that till 5 pm on Saturday, Pindwara recorded the highest rainfall of 105 mm and Revdar recorded the lowest rainfall of 3 mm . Mount Abu recorded 40 mm, Aburod 17 mm, Sirohi 30.8 mm, Shivganj 71 mm and Deldar recorded 62 mm rainfall .

The Sukdi river flowing through Pindwara is in spate. The Housing Board Colony located near the river is in danger. The residents of the colony have lost their sleep due to the lack of a protective wall. Despite repeated requests, the protective wall has not been constructed. As a precaution, the administration has started preparations to evacuate the colonies adjacent to the river.

The district administration has issued an advisory and appealed to the people not to take the risk of crossing the rivers and drains which are in spate. Pindwara Subdivision Officer Mansukh Damor took stock of the situation and appealed to the people to be cautious.

Abu-Pindwara MLA Samaaram Garasiya instructed the officials to remain alert and speed up the relief work. He said that help should be provided immediately to any person trapped in the rain. Also, he instructed the officials to keep a constant watch on the rivers and streams and avoid any kind of negligence.

Due to heavy rains, many roads in the district were damaged and traffic came to a standstill. The risk of damage to standing crops in the fields has increased. Power supply was disrupted in rural areas. People are facing huge problems, while the administration is completely on alert mode .
