News Topical, Digital Desk : The government is preparing to give Jaipur residents a New Year's gift. According to reports, 150 PM e-buses are expected to provide comfortable and pollution-free travel for Jaipur residents. In the first phase, 75 buses will operate from the Bagrana depot, where maintenance facilities and charging stations have been established. Buses in the city are operated by Jaipur City Transport Services Limited. The introduction of electric buses will not only strengthen the city's transportation system but also mark a new step towards environmental protection.

Higher number of electric buses will be operated in the first phase

According to reports, the first phase of higher-end electric buses will operate from the Bagrana depot under a GCC (Gross Cost Contract) model. Private operators will handle the operation and maintenance of the buses, while fare determination and route planning will be the responsibility of JCTSL.

The arrival of PM e-buses will strengthen the public transport network.

In the second phase, 75 buses are to be operated from the Todi depot. However, some delays are expected due to the lack of electrical connections and charging infrastructure at the Todi depot. Officials say work is progressing rapidly in this direction. The arrival of these 150 new PM e-buses will further strengthen Jaipur's public transport network. Electric buses will play a vital role in combating increasing traffic and pollution.

Plans are being made to purchase 500 new electric buses

E-buses will not only save fuel but also reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, the state government is preparing to promote electric mobility on a larger scale. This includes plans to purchase 500 new electric buses, 50 of which will be double-decker buses. The availability of double-decker buses will also reduce traffic congestion in Jaipur city.
