Puru Raj Kumar made his debut in Hindi cinema with the 1996 film Bal Brahmachari. Puru started his acting career with Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor. But he got the most popularity from Aishwarya Rai's popular film Hamara Dil Aapke Paas. 

The audience liked his negative role in the movie a lot. The surprising thing is that despite this, Puru got very few opportunities to play lead roles in films and in his 18-year acting career, he was mostly seen in side roles or negative characters.

Puru Rajkumar was active as an actor in Hindi cinema from 1996 to 2014. Superstar Ajay Devgan's film Action Jackson was Puru's last Bollywood movie, after which he suddenly disappeared from the film industry.
