News Topical, Digital Desk : Punjab News: A shocking robbery has occurred in Ludhiana, Punjab. Three unidentified assailants snatched a bag containing 30,000 Canadian dollars (approximately ₹18-20 lakh) from a driver near the Verka Milk Plant. After committing the crime, the accused fled in a white Innova car.

Had to give money to a friend in Ludhiana

Complainant Nitin Goyal, a resident of Jagraon, told police that on January 5, he sent his driver, Ravi Kumar, to Ludhiana with 30,000 Canadian dollars to deliver to his friend Diwakar in Ludhiana.

Driver Ravi arrived in Ludhiana by bus, and as he got off the bus in front of the Verka Milk Plant, three young men who had just gotten off the same bus approached him. They asked him what was in the bag. The driver told them it contained dollars, after which the miscreants snatched the bag and fled in an Innova car already parked there.

Police registered an FIR

Following an investigation, police registered a case against five individuals under sections 304 and 61(2) of the IPC. The accused have been identified as Harjeet Singh, Jaspal Singh, and Sachiv Singh (residents of Amritsar), Stephen (resident of Gurdaspur), and Sarabjit Singh alias Gosa (resident of Ludhiana). Police said the case was registered based on a complaint and preliminary investigation.

The search for the Innova car used in the crime is ongoing. Police teams are continuously raiding possible hideouts of the accused. It is hoped that the accused will be apprehended soon. Following this incident, there is an atmosphere of panic among the people in the area and questions are being raised about the security situation.
