Soon after the police launched Operation Prahar, encounters broke out at two locations in Jalandhar and Mandi Gobindgarh. In Mandi Gobindgarh, police were taking gangster Shiva to recover weapons, but Shiva opened fire on the police team, injuring a Home Guard soldier. Police retaliated, shooting and capturing the gangster.

There are strings attached to foreign countries

Meanwhile, in Jalandhar, police stopped two suspects who opened fire on a police party. One of the accused, Karan, was injured in the retaliatory fire, while his accomplice fled the scene. Both are accused of firing at Sukhchain Singh, who had come to India from the UK. According to police, this conspiracy had foreign connections. According to information, Sukhchain Singh had financial dealings with a young man named Beant, who lived in the UK, and as a result, Beant hired a shooter through his friend Channa, who lives in the Philippines, to carry out the attack.

The DGP stated that if any gangster or his family members are found to be involved in any criminal activity, strict action will be taken against them as well. He categorically warned that gangsters living abroad should not consider themselves safe; they will have to answer to the law. The DGP stated that strict action will also be taken against the gangsters' henchmen. He also appealed to misguided youth that if they wish to return to the mainstream, there is still time; they should come forward and support the law.
