News Topical, Digital Desk : The situation in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) continues to deteriorate. Following the Awami Action Committee (AAC), PoK police have also taken to the streets to protest against the Pakistani government. Deep resentment toward the Pakistani government is evident among local police in PoK.

Law and order has been disrupted in PoK following a police strike. A nationwide shutdown has been declared today as police demands have not been met. The Pakistani government has deployed a large number of police forces to control the situation in PoK.

Pakistan government sent army

To manage the situation in PoK, the Pakistani government has deployed 7,000 police and Frontier Force personnel. All these troops have been sent from the capital, Islamabad.

Why did the policemen get angry?

Police in PoK have numerous grievances against the Pakistani government. They had made 11 demands, ranging from salary increases to risk allowances, housing, and benefits under government schemes. However, the Pakistani government rejected their demands, sparking anger among the police, who took to the streets.

Common people also opened a front

In addition to the police, the Awami Action Committee (AAC) has also launched a campaign against the Pakistani army. Thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest, with road blockades in many areas. To control the situation, the government has suspended internet access in PoK.
