News Topical, Digital Desk : Police raided illegal firecracker stores in various police station areas in Basti district, seizing approximately 1,000 kilograms of explosives. Fifty-one cartons were recovered in Parshurampur, 100 cartons in Pakolia, and 17 plastic bags of illegal firecrackers were recovered in the Lalganj police station area.

A total of 1000 kilograms of explosives were recovered in this police operation. The police action has created panic among firecracker dealers. Illegal dealers are trying to sell firecrackers secretly, but the police are thwarting their plans.

Police and SWAT team launched intensive checking campaign

In view of the upcoming major festivals like Diwali, Dhanteras, and Chhath, police from several police stations and SWAT teams jointly launched a massive checking campaign to maintain peace and security in the district. The aim of this campaign was to curb illegal activities and thwart any attempts to disrupt the festive atmosphere.

According to reports, police from Lalganj police station received a tip-off about a large cache of illegal explosives in the Deisaad Bazaar area. Upon receiving this information, a special team led by Inspector-in-Charge Sanjay Kumar and SWAT in-charge Santosh Kumar immediately raided the site.

700kg explosives recovered in 17 sacks

The raid was so extensive that police recovered a massive quantity of illegal firecrackers. All of this explosive material was hidden inside a house and shop. The amount of material recovered is astonishing, totaling approximately 700 kilograms of illegal explosives in 17 sacks. Its estimated market value is approximately ₹5 lakh.

A case has been registered against the arrested accused, a businessman, at Lalganj police station under serious sections 5/9B of the Explosives Act. Meanwhile, the Parshurampur police and Pakolia police teams also raided and recovered a large quantity of illegal firecrackers.
