News Topical, Digital Desk : Punjab National Bank, the country's leading lender, released its September quarter business figures after market hours on Friday. The bank reported growth in business compared to both the previous quarter and the previous year. Its global business reached close to ₹28 lakh crore in the last quarter. PNB stock closed with a gain of 1.7% on Friday.

The bank's global business grew
2.5% quarter-on-quarter and 10.6% year-on-year to reach ₹27.87 lakh crore. Domestic business grew 2.5% quarter-on-quarter and 10.5% year-on-year to reach ₹26.83 lakh crore. Global deposits grew 1.7% over the previous quarter and 10.9% over the previous year to reach ₹16.17 lakh crore. Domestic deposits grew 1.7% quarter-on-quarter and 10.4% year-on-year to reach ₹15.63 lakh crore. Meanwhile, the bank's global advances grew 3.6% over the previous quarter and 10.3% over the previous year to reach ₹11.7 lakh crore. Meanwhile, domestic advances rose 3.7% quarterly and 10.7% year-on-year to reach ₹11.19 lakh crore. 

Stock performance: Trading data came after market hours. Previously, the stock closed at ₹114.5, up 1.7%. The stock is near its year-high of ₹115.75, reached in July. The stock reached its year-low of ₹85.5 in April this year. A year ago, it was near ₹105.
