On Tuesday, PM Modi arrived in Ethiopia, where Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali gave him a grand welcome. He then escorted Modi to his hotel in his car. On Wednesday, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali saw PM Modi off at the airport in his car.
In fact, today PM Modi addressed the Ethiopian Parliament. During his address, he said, “It is a matter of great pride for me to stand before you today. It is a great feeling to be in Ethiopia, the land of lions. I feel at home because my home state of Gujarat in India is also home to lions.”
After Ethiopia, PM Modi departed for Oman. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed personally drove PM Modi to the airport in his car and saw him off before boarding the plane for Oman.
Ethiopian parliament receives standing ovation
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's powerful address to the Ethiopian Parliament, the lawmakers stood up and applauded for a full 90 seconds, giving a standing ovation. This recognition symbolizes the deep friendship and cultural ties between India and Ethiopia.
PM Modi on three-nation visit
The Prime Minister is on a three-nation tour. On December 15-16, PM Modi held bilateral talks with King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan. PM Modi visited Ethiopia on December 16-17. Now, in the final leg, he has left for Oman on December 17-18. During his visit to the Sultanate of Oman, PM Modi will meet Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. This will be PM Modi's second visit to Oman after 2023.
