Keshav Maurya told courtesy visit

While sharing the pictures, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya wrote on the X-line - 'Paid a courtesy visit to Hon'ble Union Minister of State and BJP Uttar Pradesh State President Shri Pankaj Chaudhary ji and former MP Shri Ravindra Kushwaha ji at the official residence, 7 Kalidas Marg, Lucknow.'

Discussions intensify regarding OBC vote bank

This meeting with Keshav Prasad Maurya, the first since Pankaj Chaudhary became the UP state president, has sparked speculation in political circles. This is being seen as a sign of increased coordination between the organization and the government. Pankaj Chaudhary has been appointed as the OBC face of the UP BJP to strengthen the party's hold on communities like the Kurmi, Maurya, and Kushwaha.

Some political analysts are also linking this meeting to the upcoming cabinet expansion in Uttar Pradesh and the strategy for the 2027 assembly elections. They believe the Bharatiya Janata Party wants to maintain better coordination between the government and the organization, so that there is no gap between the two and the party appears united in the electoral field.

In fact, the Bharatiya Janata Party suffered significant losses in OBC votes in the last Lok Sabha elections. The Samajwadi Party's PDA slogan helped dent a significant number of the BJP's OBC voters. The BJP now wants to reconquer this vote bank.
