News Topical, Digital Desk : Baloch insurgents killed three Pakistani soldiers, including a Major, in an IED attack on Tuesday night. Three other soldiers were seriously injured. The Baloch Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Soldiers killed in the attack have been identified

The incident took place at around 8:00 pm local time. A bulletproof military vehicle was attacked with an improvised explosive device (IED). The soldiers killed in the attack have been identified as Major Rizwan, Naib Subedar Amin and Lance Naik Younis.

 

Pakistani army has not yet given any response

BLA spokesman Ziyad Baloch said the group carried out an intelligence-based operation in the area. A remote-controlled IED was used to target Major Rizwan's convoy. The Pakistani army has not yet issued any official response.

There have been many attacks since mid-July

According to The Balochistan Post, four army officers of the rank of Major have been killed in separate incidents since mid-July. The continued targeting of senior army officers is a sign that the Baloch insurgents have enhanced operational and intelligence capabilities. The attacks are aimed at creating psychological pressure on the Pakistani army.
