News Topical, Digital Desk : 2,150 Indian Sikh pilgrims are expected to arrive in Lahore on November 5th to mark the 556th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. The main event will be held at the Gurdwara in Nankana Sahib, about 80 kilometers from Lahore, where Guru Nanak Dev was born.
Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) spokesperson Ghulam Mohiuddin said, “The Pakistan government has issued visas to 2,150 Indian Sikhs to participate in the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev. These devotees will reach Lahore via Wagah border on November 4.”
ETPB looks after the holy places of minorities
The ETPB oversees the holy sites of minorities in the country. Tensions between India and Pakistan have been high, but this time, Indian Sikhs will be welcomed with respect and hospitality.
All necessary arrangements complete – ETPB
ETPB Additional Secretary Nasir Mushtaq said all necessary arrangements have been made, including accommodation, langar, transportation, sanitation, and health facilities. Rangers, police, and special forces have been deployed for security. The Indian Sikhs will return to their country on November 13 after a 10-day visit.
