News Topical, Digital Desk : A member of the Russian Parliament Duma has said that there are enough Russian nuclear submarines in the sea to deal with the two American submarines sent by US President Donald Trump to counter Russia.

Russian MP Viktor Vodolatsky said, “The number of Russian submarines in the world's oceans far exceeds that of American submarines, and the submarines that US President Donald Trump has ordered to be sent have been under his control for a long time. Therefore, no reaction from Russia is required to the US leader's statement about submarines.”

What did Donald Trump say?

Earlier on Friday (August 01, 2025), Trump posted on the social media platform Truth Social, saying that he had ordered the redeployment of US submarines to the allegedly appropriate areas due to the highly provocative statements of former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

'American submarines are the target'

On this, the Russian MP said, "Let both the American submarines leave, they have been on target for a long time." He further said, “There should be a fundamental agreement between Russia and America so that the whole world calms down and stops talking about the beginning of the Third World War.”

Meanwhile, Fyodor Lukyanov, Russia's editor-in-chief of the Global Affairs magazine, said Trump's statement regarding the nuclear submarine should not be taken seriously at the moment.
