News Topical, Digital Desk : Following the Bihar Assembly elections (2025), the House has now reconvened. Several new MLAs have won and entered the House. Now that the winter session is underway, they are sharing their experiences and attacking opposition leaders. Folk singer Maithili Thakur is among the new MLAs. She won the election on a BJP ticket and has now entered the House. On Thursday (December 4, 2025), she responded to Tejashwi Yadav's absence from the House.

BJP MLA Maithili Thakur, on the absence of Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in the House, said, "He should have been there. We are not getting any competition. It felt like there should be something from the front which we feel is solid so that our leader can respond to it."

'If Tejashwi Yadav had been there...'

Maithili Thakur further said that today was my first day of debate, which I witnessed firsthand. I was listening carefully to every word, and it felt like a lot of hard work was required. Maithili Thakur said that everyone was given time to speak in the House. People from our party also raised their points. I feel good because I am experiencing democracy while sitting inside the House. Had Tejashwi Yadav been present, the opposition leaders would have been able to speak more forcefully.

The BJP MLA, addressing the opposition's questions about the bulldozer action, said that a false narrative is being set. Besides Samrat Chaudhary, other leaders also maintained that encroachments are being remediated. If the opposition is afraid of good governance, they should be.
