News Topical, Digital Desk : The first Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 (HTT-40) series production aircraft, TH 4001, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), took flight in Bengaluru on Friday. This aircraft will play a vital role in training the next generation of air warriors of the Indian Air Force. The IAF has signed a contract with HAL for the supply of a total of 70 HTT-40 aircraft. The HTT-40 made its first flight in 2016 and received system level certification in 2022.
What is the specialty of HTT-40 ?
The HTT-40 is a fully acrobatic, two-seat turboprop aircraft. This trainer aircraft was indigenously designed and developed by HAL 's Aircraft Research and Design Centre to meet the needs of the Indian Armed Forces. The aircraft is designed for basic flight training, acrobatics, instrument flying, and night flying. It features a state-of-the-art glass cockpit, modern avionics, and the latest safety features, such as a zero-zero ejection seat.
The maximum speed is 450 km/h
The Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 has a maximum speed of 450 kilometers per hour. The aircraft can fly up to an altitude of 6 kilometers. The HTT-40 made its first flight on May 31, 2016, and achieved system-level certification on June 6, 2022. The Indian Air Force has signed a contract with HAL for the supply of 70 HTT-40 aircraft. Delivery of all 70 aircraft is scheduled for 2020. The deal also includes a full mission simulator, which will help pilots practice various flight profiles on the ground.
