
News Topical, Digital Desk : Delhi News: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has solved a five-year-old sensational case of murder and armed robbery and arrested a wanted and absconding accused. The accused has been identified as Karan alias Kallu, resident of Begumpur Delhi. He has been an active member of the notorious Vicky Takkar alias Dawood gang.
According to Delhi Police, the incident took place on 9 December 2019. When at 10 pm, three four armed miscreants forcibly entered a house in Begumpur, Delhi. They threatened the family and asked for the keys of the cupboard. On resisting, a man named Naresh was stabbed to death while the accused fled after looting cash and mobile phones. In this case, a case was registered in Begumpur police station under sections 302, 395, 396, 412 of IPC.
Delhi Police made a strategy and arrested him.
Delhi Police's Special Staff arrested the accused Karan in a case in 2019. But after coming out on interim bail in 2024, he absconded. After which the court declared him a fugitive.
On 25 June 2025, the police received an intelligence that the criminal Karan Shastri was going to come near the Park Metro Park. After this, Delhi Police formed a special team and laid its trap in the area, after which the police arrested the notorious criminal on the spot.

The accused told Delhi Police that initially he used to drive a battery rickshaw with his father. But after falling into bad company, Vicky joined the Takkar gang. He confessed that on the night of the incident, he entered the complainant's house with his gang with a plan to commit robbery.
He himself attacked Naresh with a knife, which resulted in his death. After committing the crime, the accused fled on two bikes. A total of eight accused were involved in this crime, out of which four Sanjay, Karan, Vijay Negi and Ishant entered the house. The rest of the accomplices were on surveillance outside. The search for other members of the gang is on.

Accused Karan has already been arrested under the Arms Act in Samaypur Badli police station. His name has been counted among the fast-growing gangsters in the world of crime. Delhi Police is now interrogating the criminal in this case and looking for more people associated with this gang.
