News Topical, Digital Desk : Shares of state-run NHPC will be in focus on Monday as the company has announced the start of the third phase operation of 53.57 MW part capacity of the 300 MW Karnisar Solar Power Project in Bikaner. This phase will be operational on June 7, 2025. In an exchange filing on June 8, the company said that the third phase trial of the project was successfully conducted on June 5. With this move of the company, the commercial operation capacity of the project has reached 160.71 MW out of a total of 300 MW.

In April, the hydropower company said it would consider raising up to Rs 2,000 crore through private placement of bonds. The company's profit rose 52 per cent to Rs 919.63 crore in the quarter ended March 2025. A year ago, the company had reported a profit of Rs 605 crore in this quarter. Share performance The company's shares closed in the green in the last trading session on June 6. NHPC shares closed with a gain of Rs 1.41 or 1.61 per cent. In the last 1 month of trading, the company's shares have risen by 11.02 per cent. This has brought the total value of the company's shares to Rs 89.04 per share.
