New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu said that women's respect should not be just in words but should be brought in practice. An important criterion for the development of any society is the status of women there. Anyway, the country is moving ahead in the direction of women empowerment. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of parents and teachers to educate children in such a way that they always behave in accordance with the dignity of women.

The President has made this comment at a time when after the Bengal incident, a fresh discussion has begun in the country on women's safety and respect. A large section of the society is also disturbed by these incidents.

Addressed the teachers' felicitation ceremony

Murmu was addressing the National Teachers' Honor Ceremony organized on the occasion of Teachers' Day on Thursday. The President compared teachers to a good sculptor. He said- A sculptor makes a statue from clay. From the same kind of clay, one sculptor makes a very beautiful statue, another sculptor makes an ordinary statue. The clay is the same but there is a difference in the statues. This difference is due to the artistry and dedication of the sculptor. If children do not perform well then the education system and teachers are responsible

The President said that if a child is not able to perform well, then the education system and teachers have a bigger responsibility.
