New Delhi: Resident doctors of AIIMS and other hospitals in Delhi have announced to provide free OPD services on the road in front of the Health Ministry in Nirman Bhawan from August 19. The AIIMS Resident Doctors Association shared this information through a press release.

The association believes that the struggle will continue until we get assurance of adequate security in hospitals through the Central Security Act. During this, a unanimous decision was also taken to continue the strike. The association says that the government has not paid heed to their demands.

Emergency services will continue

The press release said that all resident doctors will be available to provide around 36 types of alternative OPD services including medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, orthopedics to patients outside the Nirman Bhawan. Emergency services in hospitals will continue as before.

Demand to ensure security from the government

The association requested the authorities to grant permission for OPD and provide necessary arrangements for alternative patient services outside the construction building and also demanded to ensure the safety of health workers through a central ordinance.
