Actually, Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha asked the government this question. He asked whether the government has investigated the reasons behind the 'large number of people renouncing citizenship' and 'low acceptance of Indian citizenship'.
Was any assessment made of financial and intellectual losses?

Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh said that the government recognises the potential of the global workplace in the age of knowledge and economy. This has also brought about transformational changes in its engagement with the Indian diaspora. He said that a successful, prosperous and influential overseas Indian community is an asset to the country.
