New Delhi: Heavy rain is falling in many areas of North India including Delhi NCR and UP. With the monsoon becoming active again, it is raining heavily in the mountains along with the plains. At the same time, due to the torrential rains for the last three days, all the major rivers and streams in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh are in spate. Major rivers like Indravati, Sabari etc. are flowing above the danger mark. More than 50 villages around the Indravati-Godavari river confluence in Bhopalpatnam area of ​​​​Bijapur district have become islands due to flood water.

Highways of many states affected due to rain

Road connectivity with both the states has been disrupted for two days due to water flowing above the bridge at Rampuram on National Highway-163 connecting Bijapur with neighbouring state Telangana and Somanpalli on National Highway-63 connecting Nizamabad in Maharashtra.

On the other hand, the flood water of Sabari river has filled the National Highway-30 in Injaram of Sukma district. Due to this, Chhattisgarh's connection with Andhra Pradesh has been cut off. Hundreds of vehicles are stranded on the road. Godavari river is flowing above the danger mark in Bhadrachalam of Andhra Pradesh near the border of Sukma district.

The Indravati river is flowing eight meters above the danger mark

The water level of Sabari river in Konta crossed 16 meters on Tuesday evening. Seeing the possibility of water entering Konta city, the administration has increased vigilance and opened relief camps in case of disaster. Similarly, in Jagdalpur, Indravati river is flowing beyond the danger mark of 8.30 meters.

The army took charge in Ajmer

Rain continued in most districts of Rajasthan on Tuesday. Normal life is completely disrupted due to heavy rain in Ajmer district. The army has taken charge after flood-like conditions arose in many areas here. People living in low-lying areas have been sent to safer places. Water is being drained out by opening 10 gates of Mahi Sagar Dam.

Heavy rain warning in 10 districts of Rajasthan

The weather department has warned of heavy rainfall in 10 districts of the state on Wednesday. It was said that the weather may remain the same for the next three to four days. Let us tell you that so far the state has received 58 percent more rainfall than normal. The average rainfall in the monsoon season from June 1 to September 9 in the state is 405.7 mm, whereas this year 641.6 mm rainfall has occurred.
