News Topical, Digital Desk : The wedding of music composer Palash Muchhal and Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana was put on hold after Smriti's father was hospitalized. Now, their marriage has become the center of speculation as rumors state that Palash allegedly cheated on her with a dance choreographer. Names like Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz are circulating online, but both choreographers have publicly denied any involvement and said the allegations are baseless.
Nandika issued a statement
On Friday, Nandika Dwivedi issued a detailed statement on her Instagram story, refuting all claims linking her to the controversy. She wrote, “Over the past few days, I've seen speculation about my involvement in a situation that has been very personal to other people. I want to clarify and state that the rumors being spread about me, especially the idea that I played a role in ruining someone's relationship, are absolutely not true. It's very painful to see a narrative being created about something I had no role in, and it's even more difficult to see how quickly these stories grow without any basis in fact.”
She also criticized media outlets for amplifying Reddit's claims without verifying them, saying, “Please understand, this won't be easy for me to recover from. I can't take any more false accusations. Please, I'm seeing people I care about feeling stressed and saddened by information that isn't true, and it's taking a toll on my mental health.”
Nandika receives threats
Nandika revealed that she was receiving threats, saying, "I was receiving threats that my family members could see, and that's why I made my account private. Please, I request all of you to stop these rumors. I've sacrificed a lot to come to Mumbai, work, and achieve my goals. Please don't use my name further; I have nothing to do with this. The truth will eventually find its way."
Gulnaz also issued a statement
Gulnaaz, another choreographer named in the rumors, also issued a statement clarifying that she had no role in the postponement of Palash and Smriti's wedding. Smriti's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell ill on the wedding day and was taken to the Sarvahit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli after experiencing symptoms of a heart attack, after which the wedding was put on hold. A day later, Palash himself was hospitalized. His mother later told Hindustan Times that Palash was very close to Smriti's father and when he fell ill, Palash felt they should postpone the wedding until he recovered.
Following her father's hospitalization, Smriti deleted all pre-wedding posts from her Instagram. Meanwhile, Palash's cousin, Neeti Tak, defended him against the cheating allegations, writing on Instagram that he is currently in critical condition.
