News Topical, Digital Desk : A video has surfaced from Pokhara during the ongoing Gen Z protests in Nepal. In this video, an Indian woman is seen pleading for help from the Indian government.

This woman named Upasana Gill has claimed that the protesters set fire to the hotel where she was staying. She was in a spa and later a mob with sticks and rods ran after her, forcing her to run for her life.

The woman further said that she had come to Nepal to host a volleyball league. The Indian woman is heard saying in the video.

She said, “My name is Upasana Gill and I am sending this video to Praful Garg. I request the Indian embassy to please help us. Whoever can help us, please help. I am stuck in Pokhara, Nepal. I came here to host a volleyball league and the hotel I was staying in has been burnt to ashes. All my luggage, all my belongings, were in my room and the whole hotel caught fire. I was in the spa and people were running after me with huge sticks and I barely managed to escape for my life.”

What did the Indian Embassy say?

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has issued an advisory to all its citizens in Nepal to postpone their travel to Nepal until the situation stabilises. The Indian Embassy also provides emergency contact numbers for those in case of any emergency or need of assistance.

Sharing a post on X, the Indian Embassy wrote, "All Indian nationals in Nepal are requested to note the following telephone numbers of the Embassy of India, Kathmandu for contact in case of any emergency or requirement of assistance: 977 - 980 860 2881, 977 - 981 032 6134."

The Ministry of External Affairs has advised citizens to remain at their current place of residence, avoid going out on the roads and exercise all caution.
