News Topical, Digital Desk : Muslim scholars welcomed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's appeal for unity and said misunderstandings from both sides must be removed.

Presenting a sober and modern image of the RSS, Bhagwat on Thursday said Islam will always have a place in India. He dismissed speculation of a rift with the BJP, saying Akhand Bharat is an immutable reality.

These issues were discussed

In a two-and-a-half-hour-long Q&A session, the Sarsanghchalak answered questions ranging from Manusmriti to artificial intelligence, tariffs, caste, education, patriotism, Partition, infiltration, attacks on Muslims and retirement age of politicians. Muslim scholars have praised the Sangh chief's views on Islam and Muslims of India.

Arshad Madani said, misunderstandings should be cleared by both the sides

Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind President Arshad Madani said that misunderstandings from both sides (Hinds and Muslims) should be removed and efforts should be made to bring them together.

Firangi Mahali said, we should take the country on the path of progress in a good environment

Eminent Muslim cleric Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali welcomed the RSS chief's remarks about Islam and the Muslim community and said that we should come together and take the country on the path of progress in a good atmosphere.

Bhagwat said- Hinduism does not oppose any other religion

Bhagwat has said that Hinduism does not oppose any other religion. In a way, he has supported Islam. We welcome this.

Mahli also welcomed Bhagwat's statement that the RSS will not participate in any movement to reclaim Kashi and Mathura. He called it a good initiative, but differed with his views on the number of children in Indian families.

He said- Whatever happened in the Ayodhya case, how much damage it caused to the country, is in front of everyone. Such things should not be repeated. Raising the temple-mosque issue again and again harms the people and the country.

Opposition parties accused Bhagwat of giving contradictory statements

The Congress hit out at Bhagwat for his remarks that he never said he would retire or that anyone else should retire at the age of 75. The Congress said he has made contradictory statements in over a month.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said this on X

One month, one person, two contradictory statements,” Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a post on Twitter. He also tagged media reports on Bhagwat’s statements on Thursday and July.

Congress Rajya Sabha member Pramod Tiwari also targeted Bhagwat's clarification about retiring at the age of 75 and asked what happened behind the scenes that he had to change his statement. What was the fault of LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Kalraj Mishra that they were sent to the Margdarshak Mandal after the age of 75?

Owaisi made these allegations

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi alleged that the organisations sponsored and supported by RSS spread hatred against Muslims. In fact, hatred against Muslims has been institutionalised during the tenure of Narendra Modi.
