- Spread a red cloth on a platform and install the idol or picture of Mother Sita and Shri Ram.
- During the worship of Sita Navami, offer yellow flowers and cosmetics to Mother Sita.

- Also offer yellow clothes to Mother Sita and Lord Shri Ram.

- Chant the mantra “Shri Janaki Ramabhyan Namah” in the puja.
- Chant the mantras of Mother Sita 108 times and recite Sita Chalisa.
- Now light a lamp and perform aarti of Mother Sita and Shri Ram.

On the evening of Sita Navami, a lamp filled with cow ghee should be lit at the main entrance of the house and near the Tulsi plant. This increases the flow of positive energy into the home, creating an atmosphere of happiness and peace within the family.
