News Topical, Digital Desk : UP News: Gorakhpur Link Expressway, which is one of the dream projects of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , will not only provide speed and ease of transportation, but there will also be complete arrangements for road and passenger safety on this expressway. For passenger safety, on the day of inauguration of Gorakhpur Link Expressway on June 20, the Chief Minister will flag off the security fleet. While in the coming days, ATMS (Advanced Traffic Management System) will also be implemented here on the lines of Lucknow-Agra Expressway for road safety.
The security fleet that the Chief Minister will inaugurate for passenger safety on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway built by the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) includes 5 Innovas, 5 campers, 4 ambulances, 2 cranes and 1 Hydra vehicle. UPIDA's nodal security officer Rajesh Pandey says that UPIDA's Innova vehicles will be patrolling continuously in shifts of 8 hours each. Four retired soldiers will be on duty in each vehicle. Camper vehicles are open from the back and have availability of traffic cones, ropes, radium strips etc. If a vehicle breaks down or an accident occurs at any place, these vehicles will immediately go and cover it with traffic cones, ropes and radium strips, so that other vehicles do not face any problem.
One ambulance on both sides every 45 km
Apart from this, one ambulance will be deployed on both sides every 45 km on this 91 km long expressway so that passengers in case of emergency medical need can be sent to the hospital promptly. In case of a sudden breakdown of a vehicle, a crane will be deployed every 45 km and 1 hydra vehicle for the entire expressway to remove it from the road. Passenger and medium cargo vehicles will be taken off the road by crane and large cargo vehicles will be taken off the road from the nearest changeage because as per the guidelines of National Highway Authority of India, broken vehicles cannot be parked on the expressway.
There are plans to implement ATMS on Gorakhpur Link Expressway in the coming time. Under this system, CCTV cameras are installed every five km on the expressway. Its monitoring is done from the control room. Apart from this, ATMS also has a system of speed cameras and NPR (number plate reader) to keep an eye on vehicles violating the speed limit. Immediate information about vehicles violating the speed limit on the expressway goes to the ARTO of the concerned district.
