News Topical, Digital Desk : Today is February 7th, a Saturday. The Indian stock market is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. There is no trading on the NSE-BSE. However, today there will be trading on the NSE-BSE. This means the market is open. However, there will be no real trading. Mock trading will be conducted on the NSE-BSE today .

Both the exchanges will conduct mock trading in equity, equity derivatives, currency derivatives and commodity derivatives on Saturday, February 07, 2026.

Mock trading sessions help test trading systems and infrastructure, practice emergency procedures, and help brokers and users become familiar with new systems without any financial risk.

NSE-BSE issued a circular and informed

The BSE said in its circular on February 6 that the exchange has scheduled a mock trading session for equity, equity derivatives, currency derivatives and commodity derivatives segments on Saturday, February 07, 2026.

NSE also wrote in its circular- "This is in relation to the Exchange Circulars NSE/CMTR/72667, NSE/FAOP/72658, NSE/CD/72660, NSE/COM/72666 and NSE/SLBS/72665 dated February 06, 2026, wherein members were informed that the Exchange would conduct a Mock Trading Session on Saturday, February 07, 2026."

NSE further wrote that due to mock trading on February 07, 2026, the UCC live environment will not be available from 10 am to midnight on Saturday, February 07, 2026.

Market participants are advised that mock trading is for testing and information purposes only and trades executed through such mock trading will not attract any margin obligations or pay-in and pay-out obligations and will not give rise to any rights or liabilities.

Third party trading platforms can be used

BSE said in its circular that trading members using third-party trading platforms can also avail this opportunity to test their trading applications for various functionalities (including specific market conditions) during the mock trading session, such as different types of call auction sessions, risk-reduction modes, trading halts, block deals, etc.
