News Topical, Digital Desk : A new tradition is emerging in China. Women and girls of the country desire to hug "man mums" to get relief from stress. These "man mums" are those people who give a feeling of softness and comfort in their strong arms.

These meetings are fixed through chat apps and often take place in common places like malls or metro stations. The cost of this five-minute 'magic hug' is about 50 Yuan (about 600 rupees). But just a five-minute hug gives relief to the hearts of Chinese women in stressful times.

What does man mums mean?

Earlier “man mums” meant strong men who went to the gym, but now this term is used for those men who along with strength also have a gentle attitude and patience towards women.

According to the South China Morning Post, these people give comforting hugs to women with their warmth and patience. Especially girls who are burdened with studies or jobs, feel relieved by hugging them.

A stressed-out student recently wrote online that she wanted to be hugged by a kind and healthy "man mum" to relieve the pressure of her thesis. "I was hugged once at school, and it felt so comforting. We could just hug for five minutes at the subway station," she wrote.
