News Topical, Digital Desk : Maharashtra News: The Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday (24 June) took a big step towards digitization and announced to go completely 'paperless'. Under this, iPads have been distributed to all the ministers.
State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal told PTI-Bhasha that now the agenda of the cabinet meeting, comments and details of previous meetings will be sent through email. These documents will be received by the Chief Minister and all the ministers. Ministers will be able to view the documents directly on their iPads.
Ministers were given training on the use of iPad
Chhagan Bhujbal said that to make this initiative successful, the state's Information Technology Department gave training to the ministers on the use of iPad. Along with the device, every minister was also given information about the login ID, password and official email account.
Bhujbal said that the presentation (PPT) made during the cabinet meetings and the complete record of previous decisions will now be available through email. The General Administration Department issued a government decision in this regard. Under this initiative, ministers will be able to view cabinet proposals on the iPad itself and each minister will be given a secure password to maintain the confidentiality of the documents.
Will all the ministers be able to use these iPads properly?
However, some questions are being raised about this initiative. Many people doubt whether all the ministers will be able to use these iPads properly. In fact, some senior ministers of the cabinet are not considered to be that familiar with technology, due to which the success of this digital transformation remains doubtful.
Anyway, earlier when laptops were given to the MLAs, they were not used much. Many reports said that those devices were just lying around, and were used very little.
