Pune: Seventeen people have been hospitalised after an ammonia gas leak at a food manufacturing factory in Pune's Yavat area. The incident took place at a ready-to-eat food processing unit on Tuesday morning.

According to officials, one of the people admitted to the hospital is a woman who has been admitted to the ICU. Yavat Police Inspector Narayan Deshmukh said that 17 people have been affected by the gas leak incident and have been admitted to the hospital.

All are stable and out of danger

Everyone's condition is stable and out of danger, but as a precaution, they have been kept under the observation of doctors. Meanwhile, a team of Pune Rural Police visited the factory to assess the cause of the gas leak. Police said that the factory's internal safety system immediately controlled the gas leak.
