News Topical, Digital Desk : With the help of Lord Krishna, the Pandavas won the war. As a result of the war, all 100 sons of Gandhari and Dhritarashtra were killed. In this war that lasted for 18 days, many important events took place from Bhishma lying on the bed of arrows to the death of Dronacharya. Let's know about it.

Shikhandi became the reason for Bhishma's defeat

On the 10th day of the war, when the fight between Arjun and Bhishma Pitamah was going on, Arjun brought Shikhandi forward. Shikhandi was a woman in his previous life, whose name was Amba. Amba had taken a vow that she would be the cause of Bhishma's death. Bhishma did not shoot arrows at Shikhandi considering him a woman. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Arjun showered arrows on Bhishma Pitamah and laid Bhishma on a bed of arrows.

What happened on the 13th and 14th day

On the 13th day, disregarding the rules of war, six great warriors like Drona, Ashwatthama, Brihadbal, Kritavarma surrounded the unarmed Abhimanyu and killed him. The next day, i.e. on the 14th day, Arjuna vowed to kill Jayadratha to avenge his son's death, because Jayadratha was involved in trapping Abhimanyu in the Chakravyuh.

Then out of fear, Jayadratha hid himself. To bring him out, Lord Krishna caused an eclipse of the Sun. Jayadratha thought that the sun had set and he himself appeared in front of Arjuna. Then due to the illusion of Lord Krishna, the Sun became visible again and Arjuna, getting the chance, killed Jayadratha, thereby fulfilling his vow.

Told this lie to Dronacharya

On the 15th day of the war, the Pandavas tricked Dronacharya into believing that his son Ashwatthama was killed, but in reality an elephant named Ashwatthama was killed. After this, Dronacharya sat on the ground and started mourning. Taking this opportunity, Dhrishtadyumna beheaded Drona and killed him.

16th and 17th day

On the 16th day of the war, Bhima kills Dushasan and drinks his blood by ripping open his chest as per his promise. On the 17th day, the wheel of Karna's chariot gets stuck in the ground, which he gets down from the chariot and starts removing. At the same time, Arjun kills Karna on the advice of Lord Krishna.

Pandavas win with the death of Duryodhana

On the last day of the war, that is, on the 18th day, Bhima kills all the remaining brothers of Duryodhana and Sahadeva kills Shakuni. Due to fear, Duryodhana hides in the pond. But when challenged by Bhima, he fights a mace battle with Bhima. Bhima strikes Duryodhana's thigh on the instructions of Lord Krishna, which leads to Duryodhana's death and thus the Pandavas win.
