News Topical, Digital Desk : According to the Mahabharata, a game of dice, known as Chausar, was played between the Pandavas and the Kauravas, in which Yudhishthira staked everything from his wealth, including his brothers and his wife Draupadi. Losing this game resulted in the Pandavas being exiled to 12 years and living incognito for one year. But do you know what the outcome would have been if Lord Krishna had played this game in Yudhishthira's place? Let's find out.

So I did not participate in the game.

If Lord Krishna had wanted, he could have won the game of dice in a jiffy. But there was a very important reason behind his refusal to participate. The Pandavas were reluctant to allow Lord Krishna to participate in the game. Furthermore, they were silently praying to him not to participate. Consequently, Lord Krishna did not enter the room where the game of chess was being played.

The game between Lord Krishna and Shakuni

According to the story recounted in the Mahabharata, when the Battle of Kurukshetra was in its midst, the Kauravas realized that the Pandava army was gaining the upper hand, and their mighty warriors were falling one by one. By that time, Karna had also been killed by Arjuna. Shakuni devised a plan and invited Lord Krishna to his camp after the end of the war, i.e., after sunset, to play chess.

Shakuni placed this condition

Shakuni placed a condition before Lord Krishna: If he won the game, the war would end without further fighting and the Pandavas would be given their kingdom. However, if Krishna won the game, the war would continue. The game began, and Shakuni made his move, but Krishna continued to offer his own. Shakuni then begged Lord Krishna to make his move. As soon as Lord Krishna took the dice in his hand, they crumbled to ashes.

Shakuni was astonished by this and asked Lord Krishna what it meant. Lord Krishna then told Shakuni that these dice, filled with negativity, had turned to ashes at his mere touch. Therefore, if I had played this game in Yudhishthira's place, this war would never have happened.
