News Topical, Digital Desk : 'Madrasas are not our world, they are our religion, they are our identity and we will not let this identity be erased.' These words were said by Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani during his address at the 'All India Madrasa Security Conference' organized in the town of Sarai Mir in Azamgarh at night. He said that this is not an ordinary conference, but an important opportunity to seriously brainstorm and decide the future strategy to ensure the safety of madrasas in the current situation. Let us know why Maulana Arshad Madani has said these things.
The purpose of madrasas is not just to teach and educate- Arshad Madani
Maulana Arshad Madani has said that these madrasas are not just centres of education. Their aim is not just to teach but also to prepare the thinking and education of the new generation for the service of the country and the community. He said that the madrasas which are being forcibly closed today by calling them illegal are the same madrasas from where the first voice was raised against the slavery of the British. Referring to history, he said that when the whole of India was captured by the British in 1803, then the famous religious and spiritual personality from Delhi, Hazrat Shah Abdul Aziz Mohaddis Dehlvi, sitting on a broken mat in Madrasa Rahimiya, declared that the country has been enslaved, so it is a religious duty to struggle for freedom from slavery. After this declaration, his madrasa was destroyed and mountains of oppression and cruelty were heaped upon him.
32,000 Ulema were martyred in Delhi- Arshad Madani
Maulana Madani said that the 1857 revolution, which the British called “Gadar”, resulted in the martyrdom of 32,000 Ulemas in Delhi alone. This country became independent after 150 years of sacrifices by our elders. Darul Uloom Deoband was also established with the same purpose that new sons should be prepared from there for the freedom of the country. He expressed regret and said that today people unaware of history are calling those madrasas a hub of terrorism, it is also alleged that fundamentalism is taught there. He said that from Uttar Pradesh to Uttarakhand, Assam and Haryana, action is being taken against madrasas and mosques on the basis of religion. He questioned why this discrimination and injustice in a democratic and secular country? Whereas the Constitution has given equal rights and opportunities to all citizens.
Trying to create a gulf of hatred- Arshad Madani
Maulana Madani clarified that all this is being done under a particular ideology so that a gulf of hatred can be created between the majority and the minorities, and the majority can be pitted against the minorities. This is a well-planned conspiracy to gain power. He further said that this is a secular country, and here injustice cannot be done to any community on the basis of religion. But today's reality is that a particular community is being openly targeted on its religious basis and efforts are being made to make it feel that its civil rights have been abolished. Maulana Madani said that whatever the situation, we do not need to be disappointed. Rather, we have to face these situations with courage, honesty and determination. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has striven for peace, brotherhood and unity in the country before and after independence and has fought against every injustice and oppression, and will continue to do so with full force in the future as well.
Our fight is not with the public- Arshad Madani
Maulana Madani said that our fight is with the government, not with the public. Madrasas-e-Islamia are our lifeline, and now preparations are being made to cut this lifeline as part of a conspiracy. Maulana Madani said that the recent action being taken against madrasas by calling them illegal is also a contempt of the orders of the Supreme Court. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has once again started its legal struggle against this conspiracy, because the protection of madrasas is actually the protection of religion. We will continue the legal and democratic struggle for democracy, the supremacy of the Constitution and the protection of madrasas. Encouraging the responsible persons of the madrasas, he said that Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind is with you and will provide you every kind of help and legal assistance. He also informed that Jamiat Ulama Uttar Pradesh has formed an architect panel which will help mosques and madrasas in construction related requirements, getting map approval, and land documentation. Jamiat's legal panel is already active in hundreds of cases in High Court and Supreme Court.
Advice for investigation before construction of madrasas and mosques
Maulana Madani advised that before the construction of madrasas and mosques, it should be ensured that the land on which the construction is being done is legal and completely safe, and it is better that the land is in the name of madrasa/mosque as Waqf or Hiba (donation). He said that there is no need to panic from the current situation, but it has to be faced through legal and democratic struggle. May Allah be our helper. This conference was organized by the provincial Jamiat Ulama Uttar Pradesh and the special thing was that the leaders of madrasas of all (ideologies) were present in it. From this point of view, it was an example of a historic "Masalki Ittehad" (religious unity). This historic conference was chaired by the provincial president of Jamiat Ulama Uttar Pradesh, Maulana Arshad Rashidi and was conducted by the deputy chief of Jamiat Uttar Pradesh, Mufti Ashfaq Azmi. The conference was also addressed by state president Maulana Arshad Rashidi and Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind national general secretary Mufti Syed Masoom Saqib, legal in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Jamiat Maulana Kab Rashidi.
