News Topical, Digital Desk : The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved Phase-1B of the Lucknow Metro Rail Project. Under this phase, a 11.165 km long corridor will be constructed, which will include a total of 12 stations. Out of these, 7 stations will be underground and 5 stations will be elevated. The Lucknow MP has given this information by tweeting on Twitter.

After the start of Phase-1B, the length of the active metro network in Lucknow city will be 34 km. This new corridor will play an important role in facilitating traffic in the crowded areas of the old city. After the start of this metro, about 2 lakh passengers will travel by metro every day. This will be an extension of the East-West corridor, which will prove to be a big relief especially for the daily commuters of old Lucknow.

Lucknow MP and Union Minister tweeted on social media platform X that, "The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved Phase-1B of Lucknow Metro Rail Project. This corridor will be 11.165 km long, which will have 7 underground and 5 elevated stations.

He further wrote that with its launch, Lucknow will have a metro network of 34 km and about 2 lakh passengers will get the facility every day. This expansion will prove to be a boon for the passengers of old Lucknow. The Union Minister said- I thank the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath ji and Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal ji for this decision in the interest of the public.

Defense Minister expressed gratitude for this decision

Defence Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh welcomed this decision and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi . He said that this project is progressive and public-friendly, which will provide better public transport facilities to the citizens of Lucknow and reduce the problem of traffic jam.

Rajnath Singh also thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal. He said that this expansion will not only facilitate transportation but will also accelerate the economic and social development of the city.

CM Yogi reacted to Rajnath Singh's post. CM said that it is the result of the successful guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and your continuous support that Uttar Pradesh is today moving on an unprecedented development journey. Phase-1A of Lucknow Metro is already operational, connecting various parts of the city. Now with the addition of Phase-1B, the metro network will become even longer, which will save time for passengers and also reduce pollution. This step is another big step towards equipping Lucknow with a modern and smart transport system.
