  • There is also Raas Mandal here, where Lord Shri Krishna performs Raas Leela with Radha Rani and the Gopis.
  • There are divine cows all around in Goloka, from which streams of milk in the form of nectar flow.
  • The divine water of Yamuna ji flows in Golok, on the banks of which stairs made of gems and many palaces are built.

Neither Tadbhasayate Suryo nor Shashanko nor Pavakah.
Yadgatva na nivartante taddhaam paramam mam ॥ 6॥

This verse from the Bhagavad Gita describes Lord Krishna's ultimate abode, Goloka. This divine place is unilluminated by the sun, moon, or fire; it is self-illuminated, devoid of material light. Upon reaching this place, the soul is liberated from worldly attachments and the cycle of rebirth.

Features of Goloka

The Brahmavaivarta Purana describes Goloka, the abode of Lord Krishna, as being higher than Vaikuntha. It is located 500 million yojanas above Vaikuntha and spans 30 million yojanas. Lord Krishna resides here with Radha Rani . It is a divine Vrindavan, radiant with the radiance of millions of suns.

This abode is considered disease-free, pure, and a place of supreme bliss, where its inhabitants remain eternally youthful and divine. Goloka also houses the divine cow Surabhi (Kamadhenu), who appeared from the left side of Shri Krishna's body.

How to attain Goloka

Goloka, the supreme abode of Lord Krishna, is attained through unwavering devotion and complete surrender. The Bhagavad Gita outlines the path to attaining Goloka, which is as follows:

  • According to the Bhagavad Gita , devotees who take refuge in Lord Shri Krishna attain Goloka.
  • In Kaliyuga, chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra 16 times daily also paves the way to Goloka, which is as follows - Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
  • Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare
  • One should listen to and sing the leelas of Lord Krishna in the company of devotees.
  • A person who wishes to attain Goloka should give up meat eating, illicit sex, intoxicants and gambling.
