Malaika says, “I think a lot of people don't like strong women. Women are constantly judged for being strong. I'm just living my life. I always say, 'Live and let live.' When I leave this world, I want people to remember me for this line: 'I lived my life queen-size.'”

I've had many important and wonderful men in my life, and I have the utmost respect and love for them. My problem is that if a man decides to move on, get a divorce, or marry someone half his age, people say, "Wow, that's great." But when a woman does the same, she's questioned, "Why did you do that? Don't you understand?" These stereotypes are constantly hurled at her.

Malaika further said that she's no longer affected by anything or trolling because she's developed a thick skin. She said, “I may appear thin on the outside, but to be honest, I have a thick skin. Nothing bothers me. In our profession, people keep an eye on everything—how you look, where you go, what you do, what you eat, where you go.”

I endure everything without complaint. The length of my skirt, my divorce, my dancing in films even after becoming a mother—everything became an issue. People would troll me. If every little thing had an impact, they would start controlling my life. If I kept thinking about all this, I wouldn't be able to move forward in life. Now, at 50, I just think, keep barking; it doesn't matter to me.

Malaika has become a writer

Malaika is often asked about the secret of her fitness. She has included it in the pages of her book, It's Easy To Be Healthy. She says, "I am always asked what I eat, when I sleep, what I apply on my face. One day I thought why not write everything down in a book? I wrote this book to make life easier and simpler."
